Martin Schütz was born near Bern, Switzerland, in 1969. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Burgdorf and obtained his diploma in 1994. After working on several industrial projects at ETH Zurich, he cofounded Tribecraft AG, a design and engineering supplier, where he has been involved as a CTO and project leader for around ten years.

Martin is currently responsible for the content and administration of Bachelor’s courses, specialising in design-topics, CAD and interdisciplinary design courses in conjunction with Zurich University of the Arts.
