Svetlana Ognjanovic was born in Thun, Switzerland. She studied psychology at the University of Bern, specialising in media and general psychology, before moving abroad to work as a usability researcher in New York and later in London for almost four years. The focus of her current doctoral research is human-machine interaction. One central approach is to analyse the visual attention distribution by using eye-tracking methods.

In her spare time, she likes reading and, whenever possible, travelling the world.
