Design and Technology Lab
We believe that interdisciplinary collaboration is the key to innovative products. That’s why we established a platform where students from the disciplines industrial design (ZHdK) and mechanical engineering (ETHZ) can learn, meet and perform projects together. In the projects of Design and Technology Lab (DTL) students develop a product concept and a prototype in an interdisciplinary teamwork based on a problem case from an industrial partner. Projects in early stages of development are ideal for the DTL; they should include aspects of interests for both the engineer and the designer.
Students work on these projects as their Bachelor, Semester or Master thesis and are therefore supervised by experts of both universities.
The next DTL will take place from February 2021 until June 2021. Subsequently, the projects will be exhibited at the Zurich School of Arts for two weeks.
